2Baba Jets To Benin To Receive Honorary Degree

There are two ways to get a degree – just in case you’ve ever wondered; the first, and most obvious route, is to study hard at university for several years and you will be rewarded with recognition of your efforts when you graduate.

The second is to go on and achieve high levels of excellence in your chosen field and you may receive an honorary degree from some of the most prestigious institutions in the world.

Kanye West chose the latter route when he was awarded with a doctorate in music from the Chicago School of Arts in 2015. Closer to home, Nigerian legend 2Baba is about to achieve something similar.

The iconinc musician has been invited to Igbinedion University, one of the biggest private education institutions in Nigeria, to receive an honorary degree for his outstanding efforts and influence in music. He flew over to Igbinedion University with his wife and the couple took the time to visit the founder of the university, Sir Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion who is also the Esama of the kingdom of Benin.

This has to be one of the greatest honours for one of Nigeria’s most favoured children. At the time of publish, 2Baba is currently at the university awaiting the ceremony that will see him honoured with his degree.

Congratulations 2baba
